How Does Pure Quartz Become Zodiaq®?

Quartz, the 3rd hardest mineral on Earth, takes millions of years to form in the Earth's crust. Raw Quartz grows in large crystal clusters. It is then crushed into different sizes and facets and is washed to remove all impurities. To answer consumer demand, DuPont™ uses patented color innovation to get the exquisite look of quarry-cut stone. ZODIAQ® slabs, made by DuPont™ have 10 times the impact resistance and 2 ½ times the flexural strength of Natural Stone, but is impenetrable by liquids, therefore Zodiaq® never need to be sealed.
